Learn About Kristal
Kristal is a second year student from Miami, Florida. She received a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies in biological, physical, and cognitive sciences from the University of Central Florida. At an early age, she knew her career path would lead her to medicine. Before enrolling at Sonoran University, Kristal taught at an alternative middle/high school as a science teacher and was also employed as a pharmacy technician.
While teaching, she attempted to incorporate meditation and yoga into her curriculum to help students manage stress and energy levels along with gaining control of an overactive mind. As a pharmacy technician, she learned about her patients switching to natural supplements to replace their pharmaceutical treatments. This opened her eyes to a part of naturopathic medicine she knew very little about and grew a desire to learn more and eventually decided that this was the path she wanted to direct her medical career towards, thus joining Sonoran University.
