Leann Hill, MS, CNS

Class of 2022

Leann is a Certified Nutrition Specialist and Herbalist whose main focus is community education and botanicals. She first studied herbalism at the Florida School of Holistic Living, graduating from their Roots, Family, and Community Herbalism program. During this time, she developed a strong appreciation for nutrition which eventually led to her studies at Sonoran University where she graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition in 2022.
Within a year of graduating, Leann was presented with an opportunity to work in public health providing nutrition education to low-income communities. Since April of 2023, she has been part of the SNAP-Ed team at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. This team is part of a larger program that provides free nutrition classes and other resources throughout the state. The SNAP-Ed teams are dedicated to making changes in policy, systems, and the environment that help to reframe how the public views food and break down the barriers to nutrition security.
In addition to her work in public health, Leann is preparing to open a private nutrition practice and participate in research that will expand the knowledge of how botanicals benefit us and can be incorporated into health practices. After all, food is medicine, and many of these botanicals are also traditional foods.
