About:
Dr. Joseph Vazquez has been practicing since 2013, with a focus in general medicine, physical medicine and cardiology. He worked at NUHS as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Faculty member where he created the first clinical summative assessment to target student learning outcomes and programmatic competencies. Dr. Vazquez has been active in the community of naturopathic medical education leadership, representing Sonoran in various organizations including the Council of Chief Academic and Clinical Officers (CCACO) and the AANMC, where he has contributed to publications regarding the therapeutic benefits of laughter and natural approaches to IBS. Dr. Vazquez has also presented on the topic of MTHFR and most recently served as an editor for the Gale Encyclopedia of Alternative Medicine, 6th Edition. He has a special interest in Lyme Disease, including the investigation of melittin as a novel therapeutic. Dr. Vazquez is a member of the New England Journal of Medicine Insights Council, where he contributes to the topic of healthcare transformation with other executives, clinical leaders and clinicians worldwide.
