The Student Engagement Office invites you to a presentation on hypnosis, self-care, and stress reduction by Dr. Enjolie Lafaurie.
Enjolie Lafaurie, PhD, CHt, is a psychologist and professor, specializing in the Psychology of Gender and Culture. Her degrees from Arizona State University and the University of Southern California were in counseling psychology with an emphasis in multiculturalism. Enjolie’s passion for diversity resulted in her teaching in Tanzania, Africa, in 2004, on the topics of prevention of HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other culturally bound practices. She became a certified hypnotherapist in 2007, incorporating this skill set into a private practice. While at New Mexico State University (NMSU), she received training in mindfulness and biofeedback.
Currently, Dr. Lafaurie provides service and leadership internationally, nationally, and within her local community. She co-hosts a weekly titled The Nightly Restorative Check-In for the National Parents Union and is a regular guest on the Spanish broadcast titled El Sindicato Nacional de Padres. Enjolie is the CFO for the Cihuapactli Collective, a non-profit organization that supports indigenous women and families to reconnect with ancestral knowledge through traditional wellness practices.
Enjolie also merges her expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion with that of contemplative practices. She incorporates neuroscience, mindfulness, and meditation to navigate challenging conversations around the topics of equity. Lastly, as a small business owner, Dr. Lafaurie teaches courses that merge concepts of business with psychology and culture.
