Melissa Winquist, MA, is Vice President of Student Affairs. She holds a Bachelor Degree and a Masters of Arts in Public History & Administration from Arizona State University. Melissa has over 25 years’ experience in higher education and student affairs beginning her career in 1994 at the University of Michigan-Dearborn working with students from the College of Education and UM’s Center for Heritage Education. Melissa joined Sonoran in 1996 and in her twenty plus years service to Sonoran has held positions such as Director of Admissions and Records, Director of Enrollment Management, and ultimately promoted in 2003 to her current position of V.P. of Student Affairs where she leads a team comprised of Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar’s Office, Dean of Students, Alumni, and Career Services.
Melissa is an active member of the Association of Collegiate Registrar’s and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). She has been recognized by the Sonoran Board of Trustees for her contributions to the college and student affairs in 2007 and by the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges (AANMC) for launching the first international committee on admissions/recruitment for naturopathic medical colleges.
