Recent Recipient - Courtney Folk

Courtney Folk is a second-year student at Sonoran University of Health Sciences pursuing a degree in Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. Courtney’s journey and pursuits have had her immersed in the medical field for the past ten years, although the path to success has been a rewarding and dynamic one.
Courtney began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in a nursing home, which served as her entry point into the world of healthcare. From there, she advanced to becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and subsequently a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Next, Courtney worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the emergency room managing various emergencies with compassion.
Courtney’s diverse background has given her insight into the gaps that modern healthcare has. Her feelings the frustration of patients and families that were searching for answers is what fueled the decision to become a naturopathic doctor. In the future, Courtney is excited to combine her expertise with the principles of naturopathic medicine. Considering this, she’s transitioned to providing mobile intravenous therapy, which allows her to use her RN degree and provide vital nutrients to clients.
Outside of professional life, Courtney enjoy staying active and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. She is passionate about hiking and paddle boarding, which offer a refreshing escape and a way to connect with nature. Additionally, Courtney loves country swing dancing, in which the joy and energy it brings helps her stay balanced and engaged.
As Courtney continues ehr education and works towards becoming a naturopathic doctor, she is most excited to integrate her extensive medical background with a focus on holistic and natural approaches to patient care. She is, most of all, deeply committed to advancing my knowledge and skills to make a meaningful impact in the field of healthcare.
